About Us

The students of Central Tae Kwon Do have been guided for the last fifteen years by Master Park, Kyung Sik, an Eighth Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Master Park began his practice as a child over forty years ago in South Korea. He studied in the US under Grand Master Lee, Young Ihl, a pioneering member of the USTU Movement, who himself was a student of Grand Master Oh, who taught Moo Duk Kwan style Tae Kwon Do in Seoul, Korea.

The Meaning of Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do is an action philosophy. It is the Korean art of self-defense. Literally translated, Tae means foot, Kwon means hand, and Do means art.

In addition to the art of Tae Kwon Do  and practical self defense, students will learn values such as honesty, loyalty, and respect.

Incorporating physical, mental, and philosophical aspects into one's life will build for them among other improvements, the ability to be strong, to be humble, to be gentle, to maintain self-respect, and inspire both independence and coexistence.

Master Park has trained, taught, and coached elite athletes at both the World and Olympic levels. Classes focus on both traditional as well as modern Olympic style TaeKwonDo.
